About Medalist Village

Medalist Village is a small gated community on the west side of Hobe Sound, founded by Greg Norman and set inside roughly 870 acres of protected Florida preserve. It is home to about 100 custom single-family homes on quarter-acre to half-acre-plus lots with preserve, golf, or lake views. The community's on-site club, Medalist Village Club, offers a Greg Norman designed par-3 short course, tennis, a spa, fitness, and casual dining, with a relaxed, family-first feel that sets it apart from the larger country clubs to the south.

One thing to know before you shop: Medalist Village is not Medalist Golf Club. The famous 18-hole Norman and Pete Dye course next door is a separate, invitation-only club with no connection to the real estate. What a Village homeowner can join is the Village Club.

Homes in Medalist Village were built over roughly two decades by several area builders, so styles range from coastal and Mediterranean to newer transitional designs. Lot size, view, and build year drive price more than square footage. Pricing changes with the small inventory here, so we keep figures off this page. Highlights

The preserve. Homes on the outer lots back onto protected land that will not be developed. That kind of privacy is rare in a gated community this close to the beach.

The short course. A par-3 course you can play in an hour or two without a tee time changes how often you actually play golf. It is built for daily rounds, short game work, and kids learning the game.

The location. Hobe Sound is quiet and nature-rich, with the wildlife refuge, the beach, and Jonathan Dickinson State Park all a few minutes away, and Stuart's downtown and Jupiter's waterfront each a short drive.

Who it suits

Golfers who want to play every day without a four-hour commitment. Families with kids in the game. Retirees and second-home owners who want tennis, a spa, and a pub within a golf cart ride, in a club that is casual about dress. Buyers who value a preserve lot and a small community over a large resort-style club.

It is not the right fit for buyers who want a championship 18-hole course attached to the home, or for anyone buying in the hope of joining Medalist Golf Club. That membership does not run through the neighborhood.

Medalist Village is the casual, small-scale option among Martin County's gated golf communities. Loblolly in Hobe Sound offers a full 18-hole Pete Dye course and a marina.
